Music is a natural tool with no boundaries and underrated music is something that has not received the merit, recognition or praise it deserves. A really good rock band that no one pays attention to is an example of an underrated rock band.
I don’t know where we would be without it. As “cheesy” as it may sound, music is always there for us. No matter what mood we are in, there is a song that goes with it.
We’ve handpicked a few bands for you to delve into if you’re looking for some good music to scratch that musical itch.

Girish and the Chronicles – Hard Rock
The second album by Sikkim’s Girish and The Chronicles, Rock The Highway, has been listed among Top 15 metal albums of 2020 by MetalSucks, US music website. Also, Girish Pradhan got featured in the tribute to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden along with Kryptos.

Still Waters – Hard Rock
A veteran hard rock band from Gangtok that has been active in the scene for over a decade! The band rose to fame with its song, ‘Happy Go Lucky’, selected for Rock Street Journal’s Great Indian Rock Fest. If you can’t or don’t enjoy at least one Still Water’s song, you’re lying.
Members: Sonam Lachungpa – Guitars Avishek Lemo Gurung – Vocals Samir Gurung – Guitars Ronald Pradhan – Drums Lokesh Mangar – Bass.
Nightmares – Progressive
The band was formed in 2011. Though the lineup has changed many times since its formation, two of its members, Bipen Gurung (guitar) and Lakpa Tamang (vocal) are still active. In 2013, Raju Chettri, former bass player of Still Waters joined Nightmares. Achievements: Winners of Hornbill, ShiRock 2019’s band competition and so on.
Bipolar Shadows – Math rock with Djent elements, Progressive Metal, Experimental.
Bipolar Shadows, with the new line up has sculpted a unique genre called “Math rock with djent Elements”. Technically, math rock means extensive use of numbers to create arrhythmic patterns delivering beautiful resonant melodies and djent Elements incorporates groovy rhythms and breakdowns from the genre called djent.
