Tara Pd. Bhattarai has resigned from his position

Tara Pd. Bhattarai has resigned from his position as publicity secretary and spokesperson of the Hamro Sikkim Party. He submitted his resignation to the party’s general secretary, citing “ideological differences” and the “undemocratic functioning of power by the president” as reasons for his departure.

In his letter to the general secretary, Bhattarai expressed that he was resigning from his position with immediate effect. He explained that his decision was prompted by a misalignment of his ideological beliefs with those of the party and the undemocratic way in which the party president was operating.

Bhattarai stated, “During my time in the party, I have experienced ideological differences and observed the undemocratic functioning of power by the president, which violates the objectives of the party.”

He went on to allege that under the leadership of party president Bhaichung Bhutia, collective decision-making had lost its significance within the party. “Unfortunately, I have also witnessed the decentralization of power, and the collective decision-making process has lost its meaning under the leadership of the party president.”

Lastly, Bhattarai requested that the flag of the erstwhile Sikkim Sangram Parishad Party be handed over to him.

Neeknor Pradhan Also Resigns from Hamro Sikkim Party

Neeknor Pradhan, who held the post of working president of HSP, has also resigned from the party. Like Bhattarai, Pradhan cited “ideological differences” and the “undemocratic functioning of the president of the party, Bhaichung Bhutia,” as the reasons for his resignation.

In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Party, Pradhan explained that he was resigning from his position with immediate effect. He stated that his faith in the party president’s leadership had been lost due to the misalignment of their ideologies and the undemocratic manner in which he was functioning.

Pradhan said, “It is because of the ideological differences and the undemocratic functioning of the president, violating the objectives of the association, hence lost my faith in his leadership.”
